Bailey, White, Zator win seats on school boards; Megyesi, Cowan in Fate

ROCKWALL – Marketing director Jon Bailey and salesman Jim White (left photo) easily won Place 4 and Place 5 seats on the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees yesterday.

Bailey easily defeated retired teacher Bill Watts with 1,250 to 474 votes. White had more votes (953) than his opponents combined, former teacher Shana Young (439) and attorney Bryan Pope (387), who had 826 total votes.

College music instructor Dr. Brian Zator (center photo) won Place 6 on the Royse City RISD Board, also with more votes than his opponents, Scott Mucklesturm and Christina Carrion, 139 to 82 and 46 votes (128 total votes).

In the closest race attorney Lorne Megyesi (right photo) won Fate City Council Place 1 by just three votes over Jim Thornhill, 122 to 119.

Cameron Cowan defeated incumbent Forest Murley, 158 to 85, for Place 5.

The votes are still unofficial as of 8 am this morning, according to the Rockwall County Elections Department website.

Only 2,126 voters (4.41 %) showed up to vote out of 48,196 registered voters across Rockwall County, including 882 who voted early (1.83%).
