Mrs. Nancy Plumlee receives her award as Civilian of the Year, flanked by Police Chief Mark Moeller (right) and Assistant Chief Kirk Riggs.

Public Information Officer Jeff Welch said Tigert was honored for his investigative work on financial crimes and his expert testimony for the District Attorney’s Office in drug cases. Plumlee received the award as a result of her customer service and assistance to fellow co-workers.

“Both were nominated by their peers and their names were sent to a nominating committee appointed by Chief Moeller,” he explained. “The nominating committee reviewed their nominations and confirmed they met the criteria set forth by the department.”

Several other officers received recognition for their work during 2012, as well.
