Candlelight vigil tonight for Jessica Aguilar near Cinemark Theater at Harbor
ROCKWALL – A candlelight vigil will be held tonight from 7-8 pm in memory of Jessica Aguilar, the Rockwall mother of three children, who was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, a former Hunt Co. Constable, Saturday night in a parking lot at The Harbor.
According to her sister, Isabel Aguilar, the public is invited to come because the funeral Friday will be just for invited guests.
Aguilar’s 18-year-old son, Jaime Puente, who is a senior at Rockwall High School, told The Rockwall News that many friends and co-workers of his mother have come by their home to pay their respects and offer to help the family. She worked for a company which owns apartments and she would travel to whichever complex in the area that needed her help.
He said his school counselor has told him the school wants to help.
A bank account will be opened soon in behalf of Jessica Aguilar’s children for those who would like to donate. Jaime said funds will be badly needed and greatly appreciated. He said his aunt who lives in Rowlett and his uncle will likely take over raising the children but they will need help. He said their mother’s parents are also involved and assisting the family.
