Funeral services planned for little Nate Oxford who died of rare brain cancer

ROCKWALL – Hundreds of “Nate’s Mates” are in mourning this week after six-year-old Nate Oxford passed away last week after a valiant battle against medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer.

A “Celebration of Life” services have been planned for Feb. 8, 7 pm, at Lake Pointe Church, 701 I-30 in Rockwall. Survivors include his parents, Wes and Jackie Oxford, of Fate, as well as brothers, Jake and Luke. His seventh birthday would have been Feb. 15.

Nate’s Mates are the army of hundreds of family and friends who have supported Nate and his family for the past four years.

His father informed nearly 6,000 Facebook followers on their “Pray for Little Nate” page that Lake Pointe was selected partially because of its large auditorium. He wrote that the services will be family-friendly and include a video, band and a few speakers. He said the event would last about an hour and a half.
