TheRockwallNews.com shut down all last week by AT&T, GoDaddy hosting conflict

ROCKWALL -¬†TheRockwallNews.com was shut down all last week due to a conflict between AT&T Internet Services and GoDaddy, the world’s largest website hosting business. Email service was also affected.

Thousands or perhaps millions of websites hosted by GoDaddy may have been affected. Neither company has yet explained how widespread the outage was, nor the official cause of the conflict. It could be regional, national or worldwide.

According to AT&T and GoDaddy.com’s technical services representatives, at least some AT&T Internet service customers were not been able to see or access websites hosted by GoDaddy beginning late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

Service was resumed by early Friday afternoon for TheRockwallNews.com and other customers.

A GoDaddy corporate public relations representative in Phoenix AZ told TheRockwallNews.com Thursday night that AT&T had “shut down” internet connections to GoDaddy websites. No explanation was given.

AT&T corporate public relations representative Diane Brandon told TheRockwallNews.com Friday that AT&T will have an official statement to release today to explain the problem.

TheRockwallNews.com will resume publishing news stories again today now that service is restored.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to our readers and are taking steps so it will never happen again.
