Rubber Duck Regatta this Saturday to benefit Meals on Wheels, Boys, Girls Club
ROCKWALL – The first annual Rubber Duck Regatta and Duck Fest will be held this Saturday from 9 am-5 pm at The Harbor on Lake Ray Hubbard to raise awareness and funds for two local non-profits, Rockwall Boys & Girls Club and Meals On Wheels.
According to the event website, 5,000 rubber ducks will race down the fountains at The Harbor at 3 pm for prizes for those who have purchased them. Ducks can be purchased for $5 each online or at The Harbor before the Regatta.
A corporate duck race of larger, 10-inch ducks will also be held at 1:30 pm, competing for a traveling trophy. Ducks cost $100 each to race.
Prior to the races, a corporate duck pageant and festival will be held. Public judging will be between 10 am and Noon, with the winner announced at 12:30 pm
Prizes will be given for Most Creative, Best In Show, Best Reflects Owner/Business and People’s Choice.
Kicking off the festival will be a 5K Duck Dash and Family Waddle, beginning at 8 am.
During the day, the Duck Fest will include an arts & crafts fair, entertainment, food vendors, health screenings and a kids “nest.”
