Rockwall, Heath, Royse City all lose Friday football games

ROCKWALL – All three Rockwall County high school teams lost football games under the lights last night.

Rockwall-Heath (2-1) came closest to winning – against Richland (2-1) in North Richland Hills.

After starting quarterback Chase Shultz was knocked out of the game with a concussion in the first quarter, backup quarterback Jordan Hoy played well but was sacked and lost a fumble with 30 seconds left in the game as the Hawks were trying desperately to rally.

Final score was Richland 24, Heath 21.

After scoring so many points last week against Rowlett, Rockwall’s (1-2) offense was completely stymied this time by the strong defense of number-three ranked Coppell (3-0), which rolled over the Yellowjackets, 40-3.

Royse City (0-3) was once again beaten, 44-7, by Prestonwood Christian (3-0).
