Application deadline Aug. 31 to apply for Rockwall City Council to replace Russo
ROCKWALL – The Rockwall City Council is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the Council in Place 2, to replace three-term Council member Mark Russo.
Russo is resigning effective Sept. 18. to begin training for the Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 seat to which he was elected July 31.
According to the City Charter, council vacancies are filled by a majority vote of the remaining elected council members until the next municipal election in May 2013.
Applications may be picked up at City Hall, 385 S.Goliad Street between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, or by e-mail request to jboyd@rockwall.com.
Applications are also available online at http://www.rockwall.com/Boards.
Completed forms must be submitted online or submitted to City Secretary Kristy Ashberry at Rockwall City Hall by 5 pm Friday, August 31.
