Hometown hero: Lenard Davis, Rockwall High School graduate

(Fox 4-TV Video News Report) ROCKWALL – Since October 2009 Lenard Davis has donated 2,640 volunteer hours at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. Four days a week he escorts patients to their appointments and takes the hospital’s outgoing mail to the mail center. Davis has cerebral palsy and that doesn’t slow him down.

The 26 year old has a great smile and he spreads it around the hospital. He knows why that’s important.  Lenard was a patient there from when he was 8 months old all the way to his 18th birthday.  He knows a smile can be good medicine.

Lenard graduated from Rockwall High School in 2005 and he loves being part of a Special Olympics team.  He’s proud to give back at Texas Scottish Rite because the hospital has given him so much.
