Heath 4th of July Parade will be led by Hawks State Championship baseball team

HEATH – The City of Heath’s annual Independence Day Parade will be led July 4 beginning at 9 am by the 2012 Class 4-A State Champion Heath Hawks Baseball team, and the parade route has been changed to end at the Hawk’s baseball field, where a special short program honoring the team will be presented.

Traditional popsicles will still be provided after the parade at the High School.

According to Assistant Manager Kim Dobbs, staging for the parade is at 8 am at Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School. Awards will be given at 8:30 am The parade will begin at 9 am. The Hawks baseball program will begin at approximately 9:45 a.m.

This year’s parade route will begin in front of Amy Parks, travel west on Laurence Dr. and then north on Larry Dr. After turning east on Terry Dr., the parade will then travel south on Smirl, and then turn left onto Chris Cuny Dr, finishing at Heath High.

A shuttle bus will be available at the high school for parade participants who need a ride back to the staging area.

Awards will be given for Best Float, Bicycle, Wagon/Stroller, Golf Cart , Off-Road Vehicle, Classic Car and Kiddie Car.
