6 Heath players named to State Baseball 4-A All-Tournament Team
(Photos by Trudy Woessner) ROUND ROCK – Six Rockwall-Heath (War)Hawks have been named to the UIL Baseball State Class 4-A All-Tournament Team by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.
All-American senior Jovan Hernandez (#5, above left), who pitched a four-hit complete game, hit a home-run and drove in three runs in the 10-1 Championship victory over Cleburne, was named the Most Valuable Player.
Senior Timbo Duncan (#14, above center) was selected at First Base, after going 3-for-3 in the title game with two RBI.
Senior Grayson Lewis (#10, above right) was named to Third Base, after driving in two runs against Cleburne, including a bases-loaded single.
Junior Bret Boswell (#17, bottom left) was named Shortstop, after sharp fielding and timely hitting in both tournament games.
Junior Russell Hughes (#16, bottom center) was selected as one of three Outfielders, after driving in two runs against Cleburne, plus doubling and scoring against Montgomery.
Freshman Clayton Rasbeary (#12, bottom right) was named as Designated Hitter, after belting two doubles and scoring twice against Cleburne.
