County Constable election winners: Benedetto, Chaney, Egan, Parks

ROCKWALL – In the four Rockwall County races for Constable yesterday, three new constables were elected and one incumbent was re-elected.

John Benedetto (above left) easily beat Vince Zubras for Constable in the new Precinct 1, 1,717 votes (72%) to 680 (28%).

For Constable in the new District 2, Trey Chaney (above center) squeaked by Paul Britt with 1,151 votes (53%) to 1,009 (47%) – a difference of only 142 votes out of 2,160 cast in this race.

In an even closer race for Constable in District 3, Tom Egan (above right) squeezed by incumbent John Cullins with 643 (53%) votes to 574 (47%) – a difference of 69 votes out of 1,217 votes cast.

Incumbent Randy Earl Parks (above second row) easily defeated James Cookston in the District 4 Constable race with 894 votes (75%) to 301 (25%).

Eighteen percent, or 8,479 voters out of 46,131 Republican and Democrat registered voters in Rockwall County, cast ballots during the Texas Primary Election.
