Go Vote, today is Texas Primary Election Day!

ROCKWALL – After numerous lawsuits, court rulings and other delays, Texas Primary Election Day has finally arrived!

Rescheduled several times – after being originally scheduled March 6 – today is the last day you can vote for your favorite candidates in their respective state and county Republican and Democratic party races. Voting begins at 7 am and continues through 7 pm at several locations across Rockwall County.

Totals from early voting, conducted May 14-25, plus today’s voting will be tabulated this evening and winners announced tonight.

In Rockwall County, you can vote for your party’s candidates for federal, state and county positions, including President of the US, the US Senate (to replace retiring Kay Bailey Hutchison), US House of Representatives (currently Ralph Hall), State Supreme Court & Railroad Commissioner; plus such County races as Commissioner, Constable, Justice of the Peace and more.

There are also Party Referendums on the ballot.

There are currently 40,634 registered Republican and Democrat voters in Rockwall County. Only about 3,500 had voted early, as of May 24, according to Rockwall County Elections Administrator Glenda Denton.
