Early voting begins today for May 29 Texas Primary election

ROCKWALL – On the heels of this past Saturday’s city and school board elections, early voting begins today for the Texas Republican and Democrat Primary Elections, scheduled May 29, after originally being scheduled for March 6 and then April 3.

The changes were due to redistricting challenges by minority groups, which were finally resolved by the courts.

Early voting will continue through May 25 for the following federal, state and county offices:

  • US President
  • US Senate
  • US Representative
  • State Railroad Commissioner
  • State Supreme Court
  • State Board of Education
  • State Representative
  • Fifth Court of Appeals District
  • County Commissioner
  • County Constable

There are also five Referendums on the ballot dealing with:

  • School Choice
  • Repealing Obamacare
  • Public Prayer
  • Balancing State Budget
  • Redistricting
