He is running against Collin Co. businessman Scott Turner in the May 29 Republican Primary Election.

Pruitt is a Rockwall attorney and former twice-elected Dallas County Criminal Court Judge. He was elected by his peers as the Chief Administrative Judge for Dallas County and helped establish the first family violence court in Dallas County, as well as drunk-driving ignition-lock laws in the State legislature.

Pruitt’s local endorsements include:

  • Harold Eavenson, Rockwall County Sheriff
  • Kenda Culpepper, Rockwall County District Attorney
  • Jerry Hogan, Rockwall County Judge
  • David Magness, County Commissioner
  • Lorie Grinnan, County Commissioner
  • Kay McDaniel, Rockwall County District Clerk
  • Shelli Miller, Rockwall County Clerk
  • Barbara Barber, Rockwall County Tax Assessor
  • Randy Parks, Rockwall County Constable
  • John Cullins, Rockwall County Constable
  • David Peek, Rockwall County Treasurer

“As a former Judge and longtime conservative leader, Jim Pruitt is the right candidate to bring real ethics reform to the Texas House and make our state government more honest, open and transparent,” said Sheriff Eavenson.
