Rockwall star Alyssa Lang named All-Area First Team

DALLAS – Rockwall High School basketball star Alyssa Lang has been named to the Dallas Morning News All-Area First Team after leading the Lady Yellowjackets (34-8) to the Class 4A State Championship game, which they lost 45-42 to Mansfield Summit.

Lang was also voted the Most Valuable Player in District 10-4A. The 6’1″ senior and Rice University signee averaged 16.2 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1.7 steals over the season, shooting 46.4 percent from the field.

Lang helped Rockwall upset previously unbeaten Lincoln in the regional quarterfinal, avoiding a third-round playoff defeat for the third straight season.

Player of the Year was Alexis Jones of Irving MacArthur.

  • Morial Jefferson – Thesa
  • Jordan Jones – DeSoto
