Rockwall softball team loses first game in best of three, 9-1

PROSPER – Frisco Centennial, led by two home-runs by Allie Cranfill, hammered Rockwall, 9-1, in Thursday’s first game of a best-of-three Region II-4A softball playoff series.

The Lady Jackets (21-7-1, 13-1) outhit Centennial ((25-6, 13-1)  but the Lady Jackets’ hits were all singles.

Ace pitcher Laycee Holcomb gave up only six hits but took the loss as the Lady Jackets committed four errors.

Because of a wet field at the scheduled site, Plano West, the game was moved to Prosper.

Tonight’s game will be at Rockwall at 7:30 pm.

If the Lady Jackets win, the third game is scheduled Saturday at 1 pm at Plano West.
