Tour of Gardens Saturday will showcase 5 standout gardens

ROCKWALL – The eighth annual Tour of Gardens hosted by the Rockwall County Master Gardener Association will showcase five standout gardens May 14, from 9 am until 2 pm.

Visitors can wander through acres of pathways by Koi ponds, natural creek settings, stands of native trees, drought tolerant plants, perennial beds, rose and vegetable gardens, said spokesperson Shelly Spearman.

“The homeowners of the four private gardens being featured have put their own unique stamp on their garden with the incorporation of seating areas, water features, and hardscapes to compliment their beautiful blooms,” she said.  “It is our hope you will learn something new and gain inspiration for your own garden.”

The Rockwall County Discovery Garden, a collaboration with Rockwall ISD, will also be on the tour.  Many areas of the garden will be in full bloom, showcasing a new children’s area and various demonstration beds which include annuals, perennials, fruit trees, raised vegetable beds and Knockout® Rose trials.

Tickets are on sale now at American National Bank, Belfiore, Candles by Carol, The Candy Jar, Covington’s, Culver’s, Land Art, Homesley’s, Landscape Source, Lasting Impressions, TR Café & Grill and from any Rockwall County Master Gardener.

Tour addresses and a map will be on the tickets.  This “at your leisure” tour” is a rain or shine event!   Ticket price is $8 in advance and $10 on the day of the tour.
