“Best Party Band in the Metroplex” coming Thursday to Rockwall

ROCKWALL – It will be party time at The Harbor Amphitheater Thursday night when the high-energy, seven-piece band, “The Party Crashers”, performs the second free “Concert By The Lake,” from 7:30 until 9 pm.

Winners of the “Best Party Band in the Metroplex” title from both the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram and the Fort Worth Weekly News, the band specializes in classic rock, dance and party music from the 1950′s through the 90′s – playing everything from Little Richard to The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Concerts like these are held every Thursday evening for the whole family from 7:30-9 pm through August 18, and will feature country, rock, classic rock, zydeco, blues, pop and variety bands this summer, according to the Rockwall Parks & Recreation Department which hosts the events.

Local event sponsors are Rockwall Ford, Rockwall Dodge, Dodie’s Cajun Restaurant, Gloria’s Restaurant, AAA Texas, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital and Coldwell Banker Realtors.

Popular acts from previous years to come include Vocal Trash (May 19 – Variety),  Me & My Monkey (May 26 – Beatles Tribute), Blaze of Glory (Bon Jovi Trubute), The Pictures (Variety), Hanna’s Reef (Jimmy Buffet Tribute) and Professor D (Variety).

Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on and are welcome to bring food and drinks, but they are also asked to clean up afterwards, said Parks Department Director Brad Griggs.

Since the City started the lakeside concerts, attendance has grown and grown. An average of 4,000 people attended each concert last year, coming from all over Texas to enjoy the events.
