Realtor Stephanie Adams running to replace RISD incumbent Lowrance

ROCKWALL – Realtor Stephanie Adams is challenging two-term incumbent dentist Dr. Stan Lowrance in the May 14 election for Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees Place 7.

Early voting began May 2 and will continue through Tuesday, May 10.

Also campaigning for the non-paid, three-year term seat is technical project manager and part-time inventor Randy Oakes.

Adams, a Platinum Award Winner and Top 10 Producer for the Ebby Halliday Rockwall Office for 2010, said she is running to:

  1. Provide common-sense solutions to budget challenges and excessive spending – ensuring that RISD is fiscally strong
  2. Fight against increasing the teacher to student classroom ratio, allowing teachers the ability to focus on the needs of each child
  3. Continue and improve our current curriculum standards

Endorsed by the MetroTex Association of Realtors, Adams said she served on the Rockwall ISD Strategic Thinking/Planning Team last year, a 42-member panel whose purpose it was to imagine, design and create a vision for the district over the next few years.

With three children, including twin first graders and one fifth grader, she has been an Executive Board Member of Celia Hays Elementary PTA for four years serving as President, Parliamentarian and Secretary.

She has also been a chaperone for the Celia Hays 5th grade Camp Grady Spruce camping trip, and parent volunteer for the Hays 5K Fundraiser, Jump Rope for Heart, Field Day, classroom parties, and field trips.

“As a mom, former member of the Strategic Thinking/Planning Team, current member of the PTA and realtor, I will effectively represent the interests of students, parents, teachers and the community,” she said.

“Through compiling ideas and offering effective solutions we can ensure Rockwall ISD is producing well-rounded students, moving our community into the future.””

Adams is a current member of Rockwall Women’s League and former member of Rockwall Preschool Association.

The Texas A&M graduate and her husband of 17 years, Robert, live in the Woodcreek community of Fate.

He is employed as the Executive Sales Representative at Johnson and Johnson’s Pricara Division. He also serves on the Rockwall Youth Fair Board and as a co-leader of the Busy Bee 4-H Club.

The Adams family attends Lakepointe Church where both are actively involved in the Children’s Ministry Program.
