Outgoing Heath Council member Karen Lewis thanks citizens for 12 great years

HEATH – Outgoing Heath City Council member Karen Lewis expressed her thanks to Heath citizens for 12 “wonderful” years in a letter she asked The Rockwall News to publish this week.

Following is the letter:

“Time really does fly when you are having fun, and it is hard to believe that I have been a member of the Heath City Council for 12 years. I want to thank the citizens of Heath who have given me the opportunity to serve for so many wonderful years.

The decision to not run again for office in the May 14 election was difficult. I will miss seeing my colleagues and City staff the first and third Tuesday of each month at our Council meetings! We are so very blessed to have this group of dedicated, talented, responsible and caring people guiding our City today and preparing for our future.

I particularly want to thank Heath Mayor John Ratcliffe and City Manager Ed Thatcher for the hard work and expertise they invest in our community. Both of these gentlemen are well respected at the local, state and national levels of government, and we are so fortunate to have their leadership here in Heath.

Heath has a long history of people like Mayor Ratcliffe and Mr. Thatcher working together for the good of our community, and it is important that we continue this legacy. So on May 14, please vote for the candidates of your choice. Taking the time to vote is one of the easiest, and most important, ways you can do your part.

Thank you again for allowing me to serve you as a City of Heath Councilmember.”
