Early voting begins today for City, school board elections

ROCKWALL – Early voting begins today and continues through May 10 in elections for Rockwall Mayor and three City Council seats, one Council seat in Heath and in Fate, three Council seats in Rowlett, plus one seat on the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees.

Election day is May 14.

There are no elections this year in Royse City since no challengers chose to run against incumbents on the City Council or RCISD Board of Trustees.

In McClendon Chisholm, there will be no contested race but one change. Current Council member Jess Lovell is stepping down and his father, Gary Lovell, filed to replace him in Place 1.

Registered voters in Rockwall, Heath, Fate and McClendon-Chisholm can vote early May 2 – 7, between 8 am – 5 pm,  and May 9 & 10, 7 am – 7 pm, at the following locations:

~Rockwall Elections Office – 107 E. Kaufman St. (north of the courthouse on the square in Old Town Rockwall)

~Heath – City Hall, 200 Laurence Dr.

~Fate – Fate Community Center – 104 S. W.E. Crawford St.

~McClendon – Chisholm – City Hall, 1248 S. Hwy. 205

Registered voters in Rowlett may vote May 2 – 7, between 8 am – 5 pm; May 8, 1 – 6 pm; and May 9 & 10, 7 am – 7 pm; at the Rowlett Annex Conference Room located at 4004 Main St.

In Rowlett, registered voters may also cast ballots in the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees election May 5 – 8, 8 am – 5 pm, and May 9 & 10, 7 am – 7 pm, at Cullins Lake Pointe Elementary School, 5701 Scenic Dr.

In Rockwall Glen Farris, David Sweet and Sam Buffington are campaigning for Mayor. Nine candidates have filed for three Council seats.
