His high-energy show will be the first of 16 concerts to be held every Thursday evening from 7:30-9 pm, between May 5 & August 18, featuring country, rock, classic rock, zydeco, blues, pop and variety bands, according to the Rockwall Parks & Recreation Department.

Popular acts from previous years will include Me & My Monkey (Beatles Tribute), Blaze of Glory (Bon Jovi Trubute), The Pictures (Variety), Hanna’s Reef (Jimmy Buffet Tribute) and Professor D (Variety).

Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on, are welcome to bring food and drinks, but also are asked to clean up afterwards, said Parks Department Director Brad Griggs.

Since the City started the lakeside concerts, attendance has grown and grown. An average of 4,000 people attended last year, coming from all over Texas to enjoy the events, said a Parks department employee.

Local event sponsors are Rockwall Ford, Rockwall Dodge, Dodie’s Cajun Restaurant, Gloria’s Restaurant, AAA Texas, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital and Coldwell Banker Realtors.
