Honored cinematographer is still a Horned Frog at heart

(FT. Worth Star Telegram) FORT WORTH – Award-winning cinematographer Michael Grady returned to Texas Christian University this week to talk to film students, connect with his Texas roots and, especially, to gloat about TCU’s Rose Bowl victory.

“It was wonderful,” he said. “I never thought I’d see the TCU band marching down by Staples Center.”

Grady, 40, graduated from TCU in 1992 and completed his graduate course work in 1995. He studied at the American Film Institute in California.

The Rockwall native broke into the West Coast film business 17 years ago and has spent 13 of those as a director of photography. He has shot 17 feature films for major studios, including Easy A, Wonderland, Bug and the upcoming Friends With Benefits starring Justin Timberlake and Woody Harrelson.
