Over 1,000 babies born in first year at Sunnyvale Medical Center

SUNNYVALE—During the past year over 1,000 babies have been delivered at The Women’s Center at Sunnyvale, on the campus of Texas Regional Medical Center.

Now it’s preparing for its own first birthday, March 15, and making plans to expand its offerings.

“The Women’s Center has delivered a total of 1,089 babies as of March 4,” said Amber Mullins, director of women’s services.

“Parents are coming from Sunnyvale, Mesquite, Rockwall, Forney and all the surrounding areas to deliver their precious babies here, and we are so blessed to be part of their special events.”

The Center boasts eight labor-delivery and recovery rooms, a 10-bed nursery, nine post-partum rooms and a specific room for C-sections, Mullins said. It has recorded more than 1,000 outpatient visits, as well

To further meet the medical needs of its service area of more than 500,000 residents, the Center recently began offering prenatal classes and will have a professional photographer on site to take newborns’ pictures beginning at the end of this month.

According to Marketing Director Julie Martin, Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale is a 70-bed hospital committed to offering the finest medical services to those in north eastern Dallas County, Rockwall County and the surrounding communities.
