Dobbs Elementary makes the road easier for Afghan children

Dobbs Elementary School in Rockwall recently held a new shoe drive to benefit children in Afghanistan.

According to Dobbs’ Librarian Norma Terrell, students became involved with this project after hearing Mrs. Akin, a teacher at Dobbs, describe how her son, who is currently serving  the military in Afghanistan, saw so many children without shoes in the desert climate.

Dobbs and its “KC Club” decided to help as part of its mission to show kindness to others as part of their commitment to Rachel’s Challenge.

Thirteen boxes of shoes were filled and shipped.
