City asks GISD to honor Loveland

(The Rowlett Lakeshore Times) – The city council gave its blessing to draft a letter to the Garland ISD asking the school district to consider naming a school after late Rowlett juvenile court judge Belinda Loveland.

The recommendation to draft the letter is the result of the work done by a committee appointed to determine how to best honor the judge’s memory.

“We don’t anticipate there will be a new school built within the next year,” said Karen Schultz, committee chair. “Eventually there are going to be more schools here. We feel that it is appropriate to go ahead and get the information out there so it is available and Garland ISD is aware that when a school is built in this area, we would like it dedicated and named after Judge Belinda Loveland.”
