By J.J. Smith. Newly-appointed 439th District Judge David Rakow and Rockwall County Court-at-Law Judge Brian Williams will be sworn in Nov. 30 at 3 pm at the historic Rockwall Court House on the Square in Old Town Rockwall.

Former County Court-at-Law Judge Rakow was just appointed to the newly-created District Court position Nov. 2 by Texas Gov. Rick Perry. He will now preside over felony cases in his current courtroom on the second floor of the Rockwall County Government Center.

Judge Williams was appointed unanimously by the five-member Rockwall County Commissioners Court Nov. 23 to complete Judge Rakow’s unexpired term until 2012 presiding over primarily misdemeanors. He has been serving as a Rockwall County Assistant District Attorney and was Chief of the Civil Division.

His courtroom will be in what is currently known as the auxiliary courtroom on the first floor of the Rockwall County Govenment Center.
