Rockwall HCA loses football play-off to Bulverde Bracken, 36-22

By Jeff Mateer. In the quarterfinals of the TAPPS Six-Man Division I playoffs, No. 1 ranked Bulverde Bracken Christian School defeated Rockwall’s Heritage Christian Academy, 36-22.

Turnovers and penalties stalled HCA’s upset effort.  HCA took a six-point lead in the third quarter with touchdown runs from Austin Pettit and Evan Pettit, but Bracken responded with three unanswered scores to seal the victory on touchdown runs by Grady Achilles, who scored all 5 of Bracken’s touchdowns with 298 yards of total offense for the game.

Caleb Cathey also scored for HCA in the first half but was unable to play in the second half due to injury.

HCA finishes the season with a 9-3 record.
