Rockwall’s HCA destroys Holy Cross in six-man playoffs, 54-7

By Jeffrey Mateer. VERNON-In the opening round of the TAPPS Six-Man Division I football playoffs, Rockwall’s Heritage Christian Academy Eagles easily defeated Amarillo Holy Cross, 54-7, with the game ending at halftime pursuant to six-man football’s 45-point mercy rule.

Seven different Eagles scored touchdowns, including Seniors Travis Arterburn, Austin Pettit, Joe McConnell, Aaron Mateer, Aaron Wegehorst, Junior Caleb Cathey and Sophomore Andrew Wood.

With the victory, HCA (9-2) advances to the quarter-finals to play Bulverde Bracken Christian Academy (11-0), ranked #1 in the state according to sixmanfootball.com, at Moody High School in Moody TX, Saturday, Nov. 20, at 1 pm.
