Rowlett, Sachse have high hopes for Bush Turnpike

Dallas Morning News. Every day is prep day in two of Dallas County’s fastest-growing suburbs, Rowlett and Sachse, where the late 2011 arrival of the Bush Turnpike represents an opportunity to change a bedroom community’s tax base.

Rowlett officials met with their state senator Wednesday to work on creating a municipal management district for a downtown that will have the turnpike, light rail and a planned city center development.

Sachse cut the ribbon on a $20 million municipal complex earlier in the week. On Monday, four tracts of a business park were presented to its Planning and Zoning Commission.
