Parade kicks off Heath High Homecoming weekend

By J.J. Smith. Heath High’s Homecoming celebration this weekend began with the school’s 30-minute long parade yesterday – featuring the marching band, cheerleaders, dance teams, about one dozen floats ridden by various school clubs and even horseback riders – with hundreds of parents watching.

Homecoming King and Queen candidates rode in three cars at the end of the parade. Pictured above in the white Lexus are Lauren Hartnett and Tyler Kirwin; in the silver Mercedes, Alexa Morton and Tyler Wood; and in the red Camaro, Morgan Rupe and Zach Zielinski.

The Quenn and King will be announced prior to the Homecoming football game, beginning Friday night at 7:30 pm, when the undefeated Hawks (3-0) host Richardson J.J. Pearce at Wilkerson-Sanders stadium.

The Homecoming “An Evening in Gotham City” Dance will be in the Heath High cafeteria Saturday night, 8-11 pm. Semi-formal attire is required. Tickets are $20 each but must be purchased at school in advance and will not be sold at the door.
