Rockwall running back Josh Broach to miss rest of season?

By J.J. Smith. Rockwall High School head football coach and athletic director Scott Smith told the Dallas Morning News yesterday that star Yellow Jacket running back Josh Broach suffered a leg injury in last week’s 41-29 victory over Royse City and will likely miss the rest of the season, as a result.

The coach declined to say what kind of injury it is. He did say Broach hurt himself while making a cut on a long run.

The senior had five carries for 60 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown run,  before being replaced by junior Darian Moseley, who rushed for 85 yards on 17 carries.

Broach has 278 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 54 carries this season. Last year, he was the seventh-leading Class 4A area rusher with 1,419 yards and 21 touchdowns on 212 carries.

Rockwall (1-2) has no game this week as it prepares to open District 10-4A play next week at Highland Park.
