Town East Mall will open longer hours during Tax-Free Weekend
By J.J. Smith. Town East Mall will open earlier and close later on each of the three days of Tax-Free Weekend, Aug, 20-22, to allow more time for shopping.
According to a news release from the Mall, the hours will be 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Department stores will observe different hours, including:
Friday, Aug. 20:
- Dillard’s opens 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- JCPenney opens 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Macy’s opens 8 a.m. to Midnight
- Sears opens 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 21:
- Dillard’s opens 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.;
- JCPenney opens 8 a.m. to Midnight
- Macy’s opens 8 a.m. to Midnight;
- Sears opens 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 21:
- Dillard’s opens Noon to 8 p.m.
- JCPenney opens 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Macy’s opens 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sears opens Noon to 8 p.m.
Restaurants at the shopping center may keep different hours. Please call for exact opening and closing times.
During the Tax-Free Weekend, shoppers across Texas will get a break from state and local sales tax on children’s clothing and back-to-school supplies priced under $100. Backpacks under $100 and used by elementary and secondary students are also exempt. Lay-away plans can also be used to take advantage of the tax-exempt savings.
