By Colin Hogan, The Dallas Morning News. A shooting suspect died this morning after wounding his estranged wife’s boyfriend and burning down her Rowlett house, police said.

The woman woke up around 1:20 a.m. to find her ex-husband armed with a shotgun and standing in the hallway of the home in the 10800 block of J.A. Forster Drive, just off Elm Grove Road.

The woman’s boyfriend came out of the bedroom and tried to grab the gun, causing it to fire. He was shot in the arm and was taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
