How Rockwall-Heath baseball has won 21 straight

By The Dallas Morning News. Coach Greg Harvey knew his Rockwall-Heath baseball team could be really good. So did the players, who began looking ahead to this season’s possibilities after losing in last year’s regional semifinals to eventual Class 4A state champion Texarkana Texas High.

But winning the first 21 games has got to be a surprise. Streaks like that don’t happen often in baseball.

“Baseball is not that kind of sport,” Harvey said.

There are just too many variables. There are bad hops on grounders, line-drive smashes that sail right toward a fielder and lucky bloop singles that score winning runs. Even a so-so team might have an ace pitcher who can deliver a big upset.

And yet Rockwall-Heath is 21-0.
