Dangerous Dogs? Pediatrician Group Wants labels for Hot Dogs

The 33 News (Video).

ROCKWALL, TEXAS – The love affair between kids and hot dogs goes way back and now the American Academy of Pediatrics wants a warning label on the meaty favorite.

Oscar Mayer does it voluntarily, but many companies don’t. According to one study as many as 77 kids under the age of ten die every year after choking on foods. Hot dogs are the biggest culprit.

Like most kids, three year old Madison loves hot dogs but her mom Lacey keeps a close eye on her when she’s eating them. Lacey said putting warning labels on foods that are choke hazards is a good idea.
