12 Rockwall, Heath senior athletes commit to 11 colleges on national signing day

By J.J. Smith. Twelve Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath High School senior athletes accepted scholarship offers and signed letters of intent Wednesday to play football, baseball, softball and soccer at 11 different colleges and universities beginning this Fall.

Heading the list is four-star Heath offensive lineman, 6’5,” 290 lb. Austin Woods, who will attend the University of Oklahoma in the Big 12 Conference. He was heavily recruited by many different schools but orally committed to the Sooners last year. See the related story at

Other Heath Hawk signings were:

  • Drew Baxter – Concordia, football
  • Brad Dunavent – Trinity Valley Jr. College, football
  • Kevin Rodgers – Henderson State, football
  • David Tanner – Midwestern State, football

Two Rockwall Yellow Jackets will also play for major universities.

Quarterback Adam Dingwell (6′ 3″, 190 lbs), who drew interest from Oklahoma, Baylor and LSU, already orally committed last year and will play at San Diego State University in the Mountain West Conference. See the related story at the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Jessie Givens will play girls’ soccer at the University of Arkansas.

  • Scott Loy – Southern Nazarene University, football
  • Jake Termin – Southern Nazarene University, football
  • Rodney Watson, Southwest Baptist University, football
