Our son had a better outcome--he hydroplaned off the road, across the drainage ditch, and into a fence post. He was only shaken up although his truck did have front end damage. His truck did not have cruise conrtol. What government entity is responsible for maintaining safe road condidtions in Collin County? Can the road not be resurfaced to prevent pooling of water in heavy rain? This is a state highway so perhaps TXDOT? My heart breaks for this senseless loss of life and for the injured as well.
