Highland Park clobbers Rockwall-Heath, 45-10; wins District 10-4A title

HIGHLAND PARK – Quarterback Luke Woodley threw three touchdown passes and ran for one TD as the Highland Park Scots erupted for 24 unanswered points and clobbered Rockwall-Heath in a surprisingly easy District 10-A championship game Friday night at Highland Park, 45-10.

Woodley completed 26 of 38 passes for 344 yards to six different receivers, including Chris Hipps, the Area’s 4A leading receiver, who caught nine passes for 159 yards.

Highland Park’s defense limited the Hawks usually powerful offense to just one touchdown, a 41-yard pass in the third quarter from Kevin Rodgers to Cameron Wilson.

Rodgers only completed nine of 26 passes for 127 yards and one interception.

The Scots defense limited Heath to only 192 yards total offense. They only rushed for 65 yards.

Trevor Pinkston kicked a 24-yard field goal in the first quarter for Heath.

Both teams will now advance to the playoffs.

Rockwall-Heath (7-3) will play Frisco Liberty (5-5) Friday night at Wylie.

Highland Park will play McKinney (4-6) which lost to Highland Park in the playoffs last year, 69-37.
