About 15 Rockwall area citizens held posters and stood in silence last Saturday afternoon on Ridge Rd. near I-30 to protest the millions of abortions completed each year across the U.S.

The protest was held as part of the nationwide “LifeChain” event which has been held in early October annually for the past 22 years in cities and towns around the country.

Rockwall LifeChain protestor John White said participants silenty pray that mothers will stop having abortions.

“LifeChain is a silent witness of the precious gift of life to pregnant women who may be thinking of aborting their babies and to the fathers of those babies,” he said.

“ We do not display pictures of chopped-up babies or the like. While we hold our posters, we pray for a variety of things. Guidelines also discourage talking to one another in the chain and talking with motorists.

The local organizer was Johanna Runnels of Rockwall.
