Royce City crushed in home opener by Frisco Wakeland, 45-6
Royse City’s Ryan Fedric scored a touchdown on a 51-yard run during the third quarter but that was about the only excitement the Bulldogs could muster in their home opener Friday night as Frisco Wakeland crushed the Bulldogs, 58-6.
Royse City (0-2) which was limited to 196 total yards total offense, while Wakeland rolled up 547 yards.
Bulldog quarterback Taylor Corbin only completed 9 of 19 passes for 48 yards, plus had two interceptions.
Wakeland (2-0) quarterback Tyler Kirkindoll threw for 431 yards and two TDs on 25 of 35 pass completions. He also scored Wakeland’s first touchdown on a four-yard run in the first quarter.
His 64-yard pass to Alex Bateman early in the second quarter gave Wakeland a commanding 17-0 lead. He also hit Thomas Craig on a 24-yard pass to close out the scoring late in the fourth quarter.
David Robason added a pair of TDs on runs of 46 and four yards.
Joey Swanner returned the second half kickoff 76 yards for the other Wakeland score.

It was actually Alex Bateman who returned the kickoff in the second half not joey swanner. Alex Bateman had 2 TD’s.
