Rockwall-Heath defeats stubborn Arlington Seguin in tough home opener, 26-10

Tied 7-7 at halftime, Rockwall-Heath’s offense finally broke open a close game by scoring 19 points in the second half, while the Hawks’ defense limited Arlington Seguin to just three points, and Heath defeated Seguin 26-10 in a tough home opener Friday night at Rockwall’s Wilkerson-Sanders stadium.

Running back Jesse Irokwe rushed for 105 yards and two scores in the second half, on runs of two and nine yards.

Cameron Wilson also scored a TD on a 67-yard pass and run from quarterback Kevin Rodgers. Rodgers completed 12 of 20 passes for 232 yards and no interceptions in only his second game as the Hawks new starting quarterback.

Hawk Dorian Lawry opened Heath’s scoring with a two yard touchdown in the first quarter. He rushed 15 times for 82 yards.

Trevor Pinkston converted the first two PATs but missed his last attempt. A two-point conversion attempt in the second half failed, as well, when the pass went incomplete.
