Heritage Christian trounced by top-ranked six-man Calvert, 58-6

By Jeff Mateer. One of the top-ranked public school six man teams, the Calvert High School Trojans, travelled to Rockwall to take on Heritage Christian Academy’s Eagles in its home opener Friday night.

Meeting expectations, Calvert (2-0) trounced HCA (0-2), 58 to 6.  Calvert’s explosive offense scored on every possession and returned a punt return for a TD. HCA’s only score occurred near the end of the 2nd quarter as junior quarterback Austin Petitt connected with junior wide receiver Aaron Mateer on a 41-yard TD pass.

The game ended at half time pursuant to six-man football’s mercy rule.

Next Saturday, HCA travels to Temple to take on Bracken Christian School.
