Heritage Christian trounced by top-ranked six-man Calvert, 58-6
By Jeff Mateer. One of the top-ranked public school six man teams, the Calvert High School Trojans, travelled to Rockwall to take on Heritage Christian Academy’s Eagles in its home opener Friday night. Â
Meeting expectations, Calvert (2-0) trounced HCA (0-2), 58 to 6. Calvert’s explosive offense scored on every possession and returned a punt return for a TD. HCA’s only score occurred near the end of the 2nd quarter as junior quarterback Austin Petitt connected with junior wide receiver Aaron Mateer on a 41-yard TD pass.
The game ended at half time pursuant to six-man football’s mercy rule.Â
Next Saturday, HCA travels to Temple to take on Bracken Christian School.
