Rockwall’s ‘Foreclosure Angel’ interviewed on Oprah TV show about helping others

By J.J. Smith. Rockwall’s nationally-known “Foreclosure Angel,” Marilyn Mock, was featured on the Oprah TV show May 18 as part of a series called “How to Help Those in Need.”

Mock was interviewed by Oprah with Tracy, the woman from Pottsboro TX whom Marilyn helped in October, 2008, by purchasing her home at a Dallas foreclosure auction without even knowing the woman or anything about her home.

With no one to turn to, Tracy’s home went up on the auction block. But when Mock saw her crying, she asked why and learned Tracy was there to say good-bye to her home.

Sight unseen, Mock then bought the home at the auction price and sold it right back to Tracy at the lower cost she had purchased it for.

As a result of her kind deed, letters have poured in from across America from people also asking for help. Mock said she formed the Foreclosure Angel Foundation to help her fellow Americans keep their homes when they had no other place to go.

Mock and her husband, Bruce, are owners of Classic Rock stone yard in Rockwall.
