Rockwall-Heath baseball begins playoffs vs. Frisco Centennial Thursday


Rockwall-Heath’s baseball team (22-7) begins UIL Bi-District playoff action Thursday night at 7:30 pm at Frisco Centennial (17-9).

Game two in the best of three game series will be played Friday night at Rockwall-Heath at 7:30 pm.

Game three, if necessary, will be played Saturdayat 1 pm, at Wylie High School.

The Hawks are led in hitting by Jake Thompson, who led District 4-10A with 29 RBIs and tied for the home run lead with 5; Charlie Martin, who led the District with 23 stolen bases, plus finished third in District 10A batting with a .438 average, with 17 RBIs; Connor Lewis, who hit .429, with 20 RBIs; Nick Peterson, who hit .400; Matt Bielski, who hit .368 with 15 RBIs and 16 stolen bases; and John Branum, who hit .358. 

Leading pitchers were James Baume, who finished 7-1, with 1 1.16 ERA; and Jake Thompson, who was 5-1, with a 2.22 ERA.
