Taste of Rockwall draws 2,000 people, despite Swine Flu concerns

Despite concern about the outbreak of the Swine flu, Rockwall’s “Taste of Rockwall” and Chamber of Commerce Business Expo attracted  an estimated 2,000 people April 30 at Rockwall High School.

For the $12 adult price and $4 children’s price of admission, event-goers were able to feast on samples from over 20 Rockwall area eateries - including American, Asian, Italian, Mexican, barbeque, home cookin’ and fast food items - plus desserts, drinks…and more.

Proceeds from the annual Taste event are used by its sponsor,  the Rockwall Noon Rotary Club, to provide college scholarships to Rockwall ISD seniors. No totals have yet been released.

Cher Bullard of the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce said 74 businesses displayed their products and services at this year’s Business Expo, also a fundraising event for the Chamber.
