ROCKWALL-Hundreds of Rockwall area citizens who oppose the federal government’s  recent bailouts of numerous financial institutions and the increased taxes required to go with it are expected to attend the Rockwall TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party April 15 at City Hall in Rockwall.

Anyone concerned about the federal bailout and increased taxes now required is invited to attend.

The event will take place at the Rockwall City Hall flag pole, on the West side of City Hall, 385 S. Goliad, at 6 p.m.

The event is one of hundreds of such events taking place simultaneously in cities across the country that day to protest the federal government’s recent baiout legislation, the hundreds of extra entitlements and “pork” which were included, plus the approval of millions in dollars in bonuses to executives of these bailed-out financial institutions.

According to event organizers, the event will be a peaceful, public gathering of fiscally-minded citizens wishing to reign in taxation and spending by the federal government.

Protest-goers are asked to bring one tea bag per person. Tea bags will be collected and given to Congressman Ralph Hall, who will deliver them to his colleagues in Washington, D.C.

Featured speakers will include Dallas Morning News “Military View” columnist Jerry Hogan as keynote speaker, plus Rockwall City Council Members Mark Russo and Cliff Sevier. The music of Lloyd Marcus’ American TEA Party Anthem will also be played.

Nationwide events will be reported and twittered live all afternoon and evening at Twitter.com and numerous blogs.
