Rockwall ISD to host Community Resource Expo for parents, children with disabilities

ROCKWALL-Rockwall ISD will host the third annual Community Resource and Transition Expo for all children with disabilities and their families, Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, at Rockwall High School.

Students of all ages and their families will have an opportunity to plan for the future while making connections with local agencies, according to Rockwall ISD communications spokesperson Adi Bryant.
“The event is similar to a job fair and invites organizations and secondary institutions to participate,” she said.

“Students can explore a variety of information boots, obtain materials and meet with agency representatives. Guest speakers will provide a brief review of the services they offer,” she added. “Attendees can meet representatives from a variety of agencies that include college programs, assistive devices agencies, post-secondary training/living and many more.”

An expected 30-40 agencies that service students with disabilities will be available for students and families to meet. Agencies included are:

  • Eastfield College
  • Department of Assistive and Rehabilitation Services
  • Camp Summit
  • Lakes Regional MHMR
  • Collin County College
  • KidsCare Therapy
  • Angel League
  • Advanced Mobility Solutions
  • North Central Texas Work Force
  • Easter Seals of North Dallas
  • Marbridge

Students and parents from area schools districts are encouraged to attend Admission is free.
