No smoking in Dallas bars, pool halls takes effect this Friday

DALLAS-If you plan to go out drinking, dancing, playing pool, playing video games or just hanging out with your friends in Dallas bars or pool halls this coming Friday night, don’t light up any cigarettes, cigars or pipes because that’s when the new “No Smoking” law goes into effect.

Many expected the Dallas City Council Wednesday to consider delaying the expanded smoking ban but since only four out of 1100 or so bars are still are not prepared for the change, Council members agreed the law should still go into effect.

Some bar owners have apparently set up patios outside their drinking establishments where adults are allowed to smoke.

The Dallas City Council had previously voted to make smoking in restaurants illegal due to health danger and that law went into effect a couple of months ago.
